Shane joined the firm as an associate upon his call to the Newfoundland and Labrador Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor in 2017. He completed his Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Geography at Memorial University in 2013, and his Juris Doctor at the Schulich School of Law, Dalhousie University in 2016. While at Dalhousie, Shane also completed a specialization in Environmental Law through the Marine & Environmental Law Institute.
As a student, Shane has been recognized with a number of awards, including the Schulich Scholarship in Law, the Edward C. Foley Memorial Prize (Environmental Community Service), the Robert T. Donald Prize in Insurance, and the Hunt Award for achieving the highest overall average mark in the 2016 Newfoundland and Labrador Bar Admission Course. Shane has also published papers and presented at conferences in the field of environmental law and was the 2016 winner of the Canadian Defence Lawyers Foundation Law Student Essay Prize.
Shane has a varied general practice with special interests in insurance, administrative law, and civil litigation.
