Labour Law

Labour Law is the system of rules and regulations surrounding employment contracts — or collective agreements — between trade unions and employers.

Curtis Dawe has a team of lawyers who provide advice to both employers and unions with respect to Newfoundland and Labrador’s labour laws.

We also offer a range of services including representation at arbitrations and grievance hearings, collective bargaining, administrative review of labour board decisions, and litigation.

Employment Law

Employment Law regulates the employment relationship between individual employees and employers. 

The team of lawyers at Curtis Dawe represent both employees and employers with respect to their respective rights and duties under Newfoundland and Labrador’s Labour Standards Act and other employment law legislation.  

In particular, we have represented clients with respect to wrongful termination actions, severance pay negotiations, drafting employment contracts and advising on current employment contracts, and workplace health and safety issues.
