Sonya received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Memorial University in 2017 and a Juris Doctor from the University of New Brunswick in 2021.

Sonya has a special interest in practice areas of professional negligence and regulation, insurance, personal injury, family and fertility law. She has experience defending clients in medical malpractice claims as well as providing representation to professionals in disciplinary proceedings before their regulatory authority. In her family law practice, Sonya acknowledges the importance of collaborative law to facilitate child- and family-focused discussions with all parties. With a practical approach in drafting applications and agreements she is confident she will meet her client’s complex needs. Sonya’s practice in Fertility Law stems from a desire to assist clients in the creation of their families.

Throughout her law school career, Sonya was an active member of the Law Student Society and Law Library Advisory Committee where she held the duty of advocating for fellow classmates and being involved in the strategic planning of the Gérard V. La Forest Law Library.
